70-year-old man collapses, dies at wife’s funeral while greeting mourners

A family faced double tragedy after a man in his 70s died at his wife’s funeral.

The incident happened on Wednesday when the 70-year-old man collapsed at the side of his wife’s grave.

He was reportedly shaking hands with other mourners when he took ill.

The aged man was a former Rivers Agency worker.

The priest, Father Luke McWilliams, who officiated at the funeral, said the community has been left in “shock,” adding:

“Naturally, it was just a big shock.”

The incident happened in Northern Ireland.
