The Niger state Gubernatorial Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Hon. Joshua Bawa held a press briefing yesterday with newsmen in Minna, Niger state.
Since his announcement as the LP flagbearer in the state, Hon. Bawa was yet to address media until yesterday where he revealed his plan for development of the state when elected as Governor.
Hon. Bawa decried the level of poverty in Niger state revealing the state to be at number 8 in the poverty index in Nigeria with number of school dropouts standing at 743,056 according to statistics by the Secondary Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
He went further to reveal his four major agendas tagged “SEED” an acronym for Security, Education, Economy and Digital Novelties which he believes when executed properly Niger state will become the state of our dreams.
The Gubernatorial Candidate further mentioned that minimum wage will be addressed and as Governor, Hon. Bawa will be salaried on the minimum wage, too, because he is truly ready to serve and serve only.
He also crucially mentioned the empowerment of women and Persons with Disability (PWD) which he defined as key groups to the growth of any nation, stressing the importance of the marginalized groups’ input in the state’s economic stability, hence leaving no one behind.
Hon. Bawa promised to address the shortage of amenities such as clean water. He promised there will constructions of more dams across the state to serve the people’s water needs as well as construction of good roads, industrialization, and stable power supply amongst others.
With Character, Competence, Capacity and Commitment as required, Hon. Bawa possesses all four and will elevate Niger state to greater heights.
Hon. Bawa is here to mitigate and solve challenges without excuses because he has ZERO TOLERANCE for failure, so… Collect your PVCs and vote wisely.
